Using the budget planner calculator

The AFE budget planner is a six part online planner that will help you better understand and manage your finances. You begin by entering details such as your net salary, income from investments and bonus income in the income/transport tab. Maintenance fees for your car, petrol and public transport can also be included in the allocated transport expenses field.

Your budget for household expenses and utility bills go into the expenses tab. Fill the planner in with expense amounts in the expenses fields listed. You can adjust the fields to a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or annual option.

Your insurance expenses go into the insurance tab. Budget allocation on home loans, credit card bills, taxes and other expenses related to loans and tax are put into the loans/tax tab.

The leisure tab allows for miscellaneous leisure activities such as holidays, eating out and magazine subscriptions. The last tab summarises all that you have entered in the first five tabs.

When you have completed all six tabs you are able to save, print and also email the details of your budget. It is important to note that this result is only a guide and is not a pre-qualification for a loan.
